Public Requests

The Office of the Auditor General of Ontario serves the Legislative Assembly and the people of Ontario by conducting independent financial statement and performance audits, and special reports. These include audits and reviews of government services and programs in ministries, Crown agencies, Crown Corporations, designated administrative authorities, and organizations that receive government grants (including broader-public-sector organizations) under the authority of the Auditor General Act and various other statutes. In conducting this work, the Office assists the Legislative Assembly in holding the government accountable for its stewardship of public funds and performance outcomes.

Our Office will consider information received from the public and Members of Provincial Parliament as part of our audit selection process. We may also review a request as part of an audit in progress, or may initiate a special audit depending on the significance of the issue raised.

If you are submitting a request, providing information or suggesting audit topics, please complete the form below. All information provided to our Office is confidential. We will review all material provided and may follow-up with you if we require additional information.

Please note, the Auditor General conducts audits on program or systemic issues and may not be able to address your individual issues. For other helpful resources, please see:

The Office of the Auditor General of Ontario serves the Legislative Assembly and the people of Ontario by conducting independent financial statement and performance audits, and special reports. These include audits and reviews of government services and programs in Ontario government ministries, Crown agencies, Crown-controlled corporations, designated administrative authorities, and organizations that receive government grants (including broader-public-sector organizations). These are typically not investigations of individual issues, but rather they are audits of government programs and the underlying, systemic issues that affect their operations. In conducting this work, the Office assists the Legislative Assembly in holding the government accountable for its stewardship of public funds and performance outcomes.
